Job Description:

The Amazon Reliability Maintenance and Engineering team maintains all equipment in excellent working order, from printers to fully automated sortation systems.
You will oversee automated systems within our Fulfilment Centres (FCs), assist with fault finding, lead process improvements, and participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

In addition to your daily tasks, you will be involved in local and national projects. You will be a key part of a highly skilled team, committed to delivering high-quality results and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot PLC code, complex fieldbus IO, and SCADA systems.
- Understand Warehouse Control Systems and Telegrams.
- Build, commission, or troubleshoot Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Panels.
- Understand integrated MHE conveyor systems within the FC and external systems.
- Comprehend process flows.
- Troubleshoot industrial communication protocols like ProfiBus, ProfiNet, Ethernet IP.
- Experience with Barcode recognition technology.
- Read and update electrical and controls schematics, SOPs, and VSOPs.
- Analyze metrics to identify system and machine optimization opportunities.
- Manage change processes.
- Lead controls-related issues and improvements within a shift team.
- Commission special purpose machinery.
- Knowledge of Machine Safety Regulations and Safe Working Practices.
- Basic understanding of IT systems like IP Networking, Server Architecture, SQL Databases.
- Collaborate within controls or electrical project teams.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office.
- Share knowledge and develop training around machine systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have:

• PLC programming experience with Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley, Modicon, Momentum, AutomationDirect, Mitsubishi, Omron, Aromat, Toshiba, etc.
• Experience with SQL, Linux, Cloud Technology, and IP Networking.
• Project management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in Italian and English.
• Ability to operate independently.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, growing European and global environment with travel requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications and skills include:

• HND/C in Electrical or Controls engineering.
• BSc in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related fields.
• Understanding of Unix/Linux/Cygwin/Windows.
• Knowledge of TCP Networking.
• Knowledge of at least one other EU language is an asset.
