Role Overview
The Sales Manager will drive global sales growth for GLO Marine’s engineering and vessel upgrade services. This role combines strategic sales leadership with hands-on customer development, account nurturing, and team coordination. The Sales Manager will lead efforts to grow the client base, identify new market opportunities, develop key relationships, and contribute to GLO Marine’s positioning as a go-to partner for vessel retrofits and upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Growth Implementation
- Develop and execute global sales strategies to expand presence in maritime and offshore energy sectors.
- Set and manage sales targets aligned with company revenue goals.
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities, managing leads throughout the sales cycle.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
- Collaborate with internal departments (engineering, PM, marketing) for seamless handover from sales to execution.
- Account Management & Client Retention
- Act as key point of contact for strategic accounts to ensure long-term client satisfaction.
- Understand client business models, operations, and project needs to proactively propose solutions.
- Track project performance, provide after-sales support, and initiate follow-up sales.
- Maintain structured account reviews and identify expansion opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Research customer profiles in targeted markets and tailor sales approaches.
- Collaborate with marketing, engineering, and project management teams.
- Monitor trends across vessel types, regions, and project categories.
- Benchmark competitors and assess market saturation, pricing, and positioning.
- Create market insights reports for tactical decisions.
- Monitor market trends, competition, and customer needs.
- Analyse sales and marketing campaign performance and report insights.
- Performance Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and dashboards.
- Generate reports to evaluate campaign performance, KPIs, and pipeline health.
- Propose course corrections or campaigns for underperforming segments.
- Represent GLO Marine at industry events and trade shows.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in sales or account management in maritime, offshore, or marine engineering sectors.
- Strong knowledge of vessel operations, retrofitting, or lifecycle management is an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical/Marine Engineering or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a marine-driven market with a proven record in securing complex projects.
- Strong customer relationship skills and ability to nurture long-term relationships.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Established client network within target market segments.
- Strong coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and technical presentation skills.
- Solid financial and commercial understanding.
