Partner with the best

As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for Seal Gas System, you'll be responsible for the detailed design and requisition activities needed for Baker Hughes Package and System Insourcing products such as Centrifugal Compressor Seal Gas Panels. You'll ensure product standardization adoption, leveraging specific configuration tools, reducing customization where strictly needed by project requirements, with the aim of leading global supply chain goals, direct material productivity strategies, product quality, and installation support.

You will coordinate and integrate all technical and strategic activities to ensure the competitiveness and quality of Insourcing Products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing detailed mechanical components for Seal Gas Panels.
  • Designing piping for process and impulse lines within the scope of Seal Gas Panels.
  • Performing finite element or piping stress analysis to validate designs.
  • Coordinating with Procurement on RFQ content, offer evaluation, and supplier selection.
  • Collaborating with Instrument Design Engineers to integrate mechanical and electrical designs.
  • Working with System and Mechanical Engineers to specify auxiliary equipment.
  • Using configuration tools like Cadenas and Rulestream to maximize standard parts and efficiency.
  • Supporting product configurator development and maintenance.
  • Assisting during packaging, testing, and inspection phases, providing technical support.
  • Conducting detailed product design reviews with cross-functional teams.
  • Implementing lessons learned, issuing technical notes, and resolving major issues.
  • Monitoring external engineering resources for quality and productivity.
  • Innovating to improve product design, performance, and quality.
  • Ensuring quality targets (NCR, NCM, CoQ) are met for insourcing products.

Fuel your passion

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Energy Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (NX or similar) and 2D tools (AutoCAD).
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Decision-making skills with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams.
  • Effective communication skills in Italian and English.
  • EU Work Permit.

Desired characteristics include knowledge of auxiliary systems for turbomachinery, product configurators, and a system-thinking mindset.
