Job Title: Product Developer (Maternity Replacement)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Product Developer (maternity replacement for approximately 1 year). The role involves active product use, understanding current sport cultures, market knowledge, and collaboration with the Product Creation Team to develop concepts and designs into market-ready products. The Product Developer will conduct product testing, stay updated on outdoor industry trends and innovations, and ensure products meet high standards of quality, functionality, fit, and sustainable fabrication.

The Product Developer reports to the Product Development Coordinator for Dynafit Apparel and works closely with product management and design teams.

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Capture and detail all product materials and construction information, maintaining an accurate database of BOM data for efficient raw material procurement and precise production.
  • Coordinate factory communication throughout the development process to ensure accurate sourcing, costing, and successful product execution.
  • Lead the development process of assigned products to achieve commercial viability through collaboration with Design, Materials Development, Purchasing, Production, and Quality departments.
  • Support project timelines and processes, including costing, quality evaluation, fabric and trim standards, and factory approval requirements.
  • Manage prototypes, samples, counter-samples, and production approvals to meet Dynafit quality standards and delivery deadlines.
  • Coordinate sampling requirements with Planning, Purchasing, and Design departments.
  • Collaborate with design and pattern making to ensure products meet established fit and measurement standards.
  • Work with the Design and Marketing teams to ensure external communication accurately reflects product models and specifications.
  • Partner with Quality Control to maintain product excellence and address production issues.
Candidate Profile
  • Degree in Apparel or Textile Design, Apparel Technology, Merchandising, Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of experience in development, production, or merchandising, with proven problem-solving skills, interpretation of design intent, and product innovation.
  • Knowledge of apparel construction, materials, pattern making, costing, BOM, embroidery, and surface applications (e.g., screen printing).
  • Understanding of Trail Running and Ski Touring sports; active user experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with offshore vendors and manufacturers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Italian and/or German is advantageous.
