General Job Function:
Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the fulfillment of the Code Requirement and client’s specifications for the development of fabrication drawings, materials procurement specifications, fabrication and testing procedures, quality control plans and all other technical documents necessary to develop and produce products/equipment in line with client contracts and in an efficient, safety and high-quality way. If needed, he/she may also be required to develop some basic design activities for the products or equipment parts or specific tools or jigs.
He/she has a central role in the manufacturing organization, having a deep knowledge of the technical documentation as well of the fabrication technology, available tools and equipment, and collaborate with internal stakeholders (mainly production, quality and supply chain), in order to reach the technical alignments before to issue the documentation for which he/she is responsible.
He/she defines the best manufacturing process for each product and prepares consequently the assembly sequences and the working cycles. He/she bases the assessment on the working time, the equipment to be used, always respecting the requirements of safety and quality.
He/she uses standard tools from Time & Methods, Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement to optimize the fabrication activities.
He/she interact also with external stakeholders to ensure that deliverables are aligned with technical requirements. In cooperation with the Project Manager, he/she acts as a mediator for customer’s technical requirements or issues.
He/she follows the progress of the fabrication for the assigned components/equipment, providing technical support in order to improve production documents if needed, with the objective to avoid production non-conformities, and resolve technical issues so that manufacturing continues flawlessly.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Manufacturing Engineer may support Design Engineer for the preparation of design drawings, he/she can also be asked to perform sizing calculations for design special jigs and tools dedicated to the fabrication of the product.
He/she have also the commitment to coordinate the design review, involving the engineering team, the quality and production teams, before starting with the product fabrication.
Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the engineering deliverables prepared are accepted by the client. Manufacturing Engineer works in the engineering team who is accountable to drive assigned engineering scope up to the project completion, ensuring stakeholders are aligned and in agreement with the engineering deliverables prepared.
Manufacturing Engineer must be confident with industry codes such as ASME, RCC-M, EN; he/she is also responsible for supporting quality program improvements such as the maintenance of the code compliance. Manufacturing Engineer may support code or customer audits to ensure that the various certifications are maintained. Additionally, Manufacturing Engineer ensures that the latest code changes or code interpretations are timely received and correctly implemented.
Manufacturing Engineer may support customer contract change reviews to ensure that the contract scope definition is maintained and any changes to the customer requirements are communicated to the project leads and management. Based on the contract requirements and experience obtained, Manufacturing Engineer can be asked to evaluate the contract technical changes, identifying the engineering and product impacts, which can be used in support of client negotiations, communicating them to the project management.
Manufacturing Engineer continuously follows the components/equipment fabrication which are under his/her responsibility; in meanwhile he/she is asked to improve engineering documentation, dispose production non-conformities, and resolve technical issues permitting the production to continue flawlessly.
Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies:
Knowledge of SolidWorks, Catia, AutoCAD, Ansys / Knowledge of main design & construction codes (ASME, RCC-M, EN, TEMA)
