Job summary

CMCC Foundation invites applications for an Early Career Researcher in Climate Impact Assessment based in Caserta. The role focuses on systematic review of impact evidence and quantitative modelling of climate extremes to support climate risk assessment and urban adaptation.

The successful candidate will work with REMHI Division to develop hazard–impact relationships, review sources, and contribute to European and national projects. Strong statistics and programming skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong background in statistical modelling and data analysis for climate or environmental data.
• Experience reviewing scientific literature and synthesising heterogeneous data sources.
• Programming for scientific data analysis in R and/or Python.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structured reviews of international, European, and national sources on climate-related impacts.
• Develop and apply hazard–impact models and identify impact-relevant thresholds.
• Produce datasets, figures, maps, and visualisations for scientific and public use.
• Support reports, publications and knowledge-transfer activities with interdisciplinary teams.
