On behalf of a company working with technologies for sustainable mobility, we are looking for an Expert Mechanical Engineer in Milan.

As an Expert Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved in multidisciplinary innovation projects. You will report to the Head of Technology for your job organization and professional growth, and to the Chief of Tech for your work progress across various projects.

Main areas of activities:

1. Collect and document technical requirements and perform effort estimates
2. Model and validate parts, components, assemblies, and complete products in 3D CAD systems based on requirements
3. Perform mechanical dimensioning and estimate the mechanical performance of components
4. Scout and identify OTS components and tools, and interact with external suppliers
5. Manage rapid prototyping suppliers and apply small mechanical adjustments to parts
6. Support industrialization and transfer to manufacturing activities

Required background and technical skills:

Technical competencies:

• Proven knowledge of mechanical dimensioning methods and their impact on product features and performance
• Good manual skills and knowledge of main mechanical workshop tools
• Understanding of industrial manufacturing processes for mechanical parts
• Knowledge of design for manufacturing methods (TRIZ, QFD)
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes of plastic parts (Injection Moulding, Thermoforming, Blow Moulding, mold design) is a plus

Tools:

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks Premium and SolidWorks Simulation is a strong plus)
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Other skills and characteristics:

• Ability to work in a team, foster team building, and lead projects
• Strong problem-solving skills, self-learning ability, passion for mechanical engineering, and attention to detail
• Availability for business trips within Italy and abroad

Minimum requirements:

• Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in industry, R&D, or mechanical design
• English proficiency (B2 level)
