A leading mutinational casino is looking for Data Analysts with a deep passion for all things sports. You will marry your interest in analytics and reporting with your love for sports in a role that will ultimately improve the sportsbook offering the Casino’s players.

You will analyze player behavior and betting patterns among others. Your reports based on the data you extract will shape the Casino’s sportsbook product to ensure it meets and exceeds customer expectations.

The role is a technical role so applicants with an academic background in Data Analytics / Mathematics / Statistics will be given preference.

This can be a remote role where you will be working on a B2B basis

Role Info

Seniority: Mid-level

Location: Ideally Malta but this can also be a remote position. If remote, you will be working on at B2B contract

Working pattern: Hybrid (for Malta-based candidates)

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze sportsbook data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to sportsbook performance.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders based on data analysis.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of regular and ad-hoc reports to support business decisions.
• Study customer betting patterns and behaviors to improve user experience and retention.
• Segment customers based on their activity and develop targeted strategies for each segment.
• Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer support teams to provide data-driven insights that support their initiatives.
• Continuously seek ways to enhance reporting processes and data accuracy.
• Assessing customer activity to minimize risk and optimize profit margins
• Analyzing reports to identify potential risk patterns and take mitigating measures

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in a sportsbook environment or a sports-related field (1+ years) is required.
• Fluent English proficiency in both written and spoken forms.
• Strong enthusiasm for sports and a solid understanding of the betting industry are crucial.
• Highly numerate, with a logical, mathematical approach to problem-solving.
• Basic understanding of statistics, with a clear grasp of the relationship between probabilities and odds.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and foundational data analytics.
• Enjoys working with data and is not only interested in placing bets but also in understanding the rationale behind odds.
• Organized and able to multitask, with a methodical approach to work.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, while also being able to collaborate effectively with remote teams.
• Strong work ethic and a high level of responsibility, appreciating the flexibility offered by the company.
• Effective communicator, able to interact with stakeholders at all levels and work well with third-party partners.
