***Please note that this position could be based in any Amazon Operations centre across Italy, with most of the roles based in the Northern regions of the country, depending on availability and business needs. Please note that the role is an on-site one. Relocation support will be provided as needed.***

When you join Amazon as an Area/Shift Manager, you’ll gain experience leading a large and diverse team to ensure your area of the business keeps pace with demand. In this hands-on role, you’ll learn about the complexity of operations at a global business and what it takes to make everything run seamlessly. While you implement your team’s approach to drive productivity, you’ll also work closely with your colleagues to address challenges, which means no two days will be the same.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Promote a culture of safety and wellbeing
  2. Analyze and implement corrective actions to ensure quality and productivity are consistently high, and business objectives are met across all shifts
  3. Support and lead a team, handle administrative work, and build a strong team culture
  4. Analyze performance and suggest process improvements to optimize work and enhance customer service
  5. Collaborate with other managers to standardize shift processes
A day in the life

You’ll work shifts at one of our operational sites. Your main focus will be maintaining safety standards within your team and across your site. You’ll monitor and maintain process efficiency. Your days will include routine team management, daily operational tasks, addressing escalations, process improvement initiatives, and operational contingency planning.

Being part of the operations team involves working with colleagues in other teams and external partners to meet customer demands and targets. This includes analyzing data and performance metrics with business leaders and discussing technical improvements with engineers.

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) handles ‘last mile’ delivery in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We focus on continuous improvement to deliver millions of products to customers efficiently. Our goal is to make delivery experiences smooth and to implement innovative solutions like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants.

Our operations are divided into two sides: the ‘under the roof’ team processes products for dispatch, focusing on operational efficiency and night shifts; the ‘on the road’ team works with Amazon Flex delivery contractors, constantly innovating to improve customer experience and reduce environmental impact, supported by advanced vehicles including Electric Vehicles.

Basic Qualifications
  • University degree (Bachelor's or Master's), completed before start date
  • Willingness to work in non-traditional shift patterns, including nights and weekends
  • Fluent in Italian and English
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications are not required but are appreciated:

  • Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders, including peers and leadership
  • Experience in a logistical environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
