Position Overview
Newel Health is seeking a highly organized and results-oriented Product Owner to drive both the strategic direction and the successful execution of key features and products within our digital therapeutics and SaMD portfolio. You will be responsible for defining product requirements, managing the product roadmap, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver impactful and compliant solutions that improve patient outcomes. This pivotal role requires a strong blend of product vision, strategic thinking, and exceptional project management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligning with Newel Health's overall goals.
- Conduct market research, user research, and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and unmet needs.
- Translate user needs and business requirements into detailed product specifications and user stories.
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and resource capacity.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, clinical, and regulatory teams throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept to launch.
- Define and analyze product metrics to measure success, identify areas for improvement, and inform future iterations.
- Communicate product updates, progress, and challenges to stakeholders across the organization.
- Drive product adoption and engagement through effective launch planning and post-launch activities.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocation for product development initiatives.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.
- Track project progress meticulously, identify critical paths and dependencies, and proactively implement mitigation strategies for potential risks.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across all project stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.
- Manage project scope, ensuring adherence to defined objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Organize and lead project meetings, providing clear agendas, facilitating discussions, and ensuring timely follow-up on action items.
- Utilize project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban) to optimize project delivery.
- Monitor and report on project status to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, potential roadblocks, and overall project health.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a combination of Product Management and Project Management roles, preferably within the healthcare, digital health, or SaaS industry.
- Proven ability to define and launch successful software products or features, coupled with a strong track record of successfully managing complex projects.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and agile development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus across diverse teams.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals) and understanding of compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, MDR) is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with SaMD development and lifecycle is a plus.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., ClickApp, Linear, Jira, Asana, Trello, Microsoft Project).
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Healthcare).
- Fluent in English; additional EU languages a plus.
