Adecco Life Science, a specialized division of the Adecco Group, is seeking a R&D Engineer for a client company involved in designing and constructing modules, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers for the pharmaceutical sector.
Job Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Lead and support the design of new processes and equipment, including machinery for biotech products (Mab, insulin, vaccine, plasma), pharmaceuticals, and related products.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across Sweden, China, and the US, participating in multi-international project teams.
- Develop and review design documentation such as layouts, P&IDs, process descriptions, and capacity calculations.
- Define standards and specifications for equipment and components.
- Perform risk analyses and post-evaluation assessments.
- Develop product documentation and support patent preparations.
- Promote standardization in design and contribute to guidelines and SOPs.
- Coordinate with equipment and component suppliers.
- Conduct or oversee functional tests on machinery.
- Participate in training and seminars to stay updated on technological advances.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- MSc / BSc or equivalent in chemical, biochemical, pharmaceutical, biotech engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bio-pharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industries, with biotech experience preferred.
- Experience in R&D, pharma production management, validation, and GMP regulations.
- Knowledge of industry trends and cutting-edge technologies.
- International experience, either academic or professional, working with international teams or clients.
- Language skills: Fluent in English and Italian; proficiency in other European languages or Chinese is a plus.
- Self-motivated, independent, hands-on, and result-oriented.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software such as AutoCAD, COMOS, ASPEN, NavisWorks, etc.
Work Details:
- Location: Segrate (MI)
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, with some remote work possible.
- Employment terms: CCNL for the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sector; permanent contract with the company.
