The Gran Sasso Science Institute (GSSI) in L’Aquila (Italy) is seeking highly qualified and motivated candidates for 6 Ph.D. positions in the doctoral program "Mathematics in Natural, Social and Life Sciences". The official call for applications is published here.

These fully funded positions last four years, including an internationally competitive salary, research allowance, free accommodation, and additional benefits. They do not include teaching duties. The program's official language is English.

During the first year, students attend graduate courses offered by the Institute. Afterward, students select a research project and thesis advisor. More details are available here.

About GSSI

GSSI is a renowned research institute and school of advanced studies located in L’Aquila, Italy, hosting the University of L’Aquila and the INFN Gran Sasso National Laboratory. The town is known for its cultural heritage and academic environment.

The faculty is organized into four scientific areas: Mathematics, Astroparticle Physics, Computer Science, and Regional Sciences and Economic Geography.
