Role Description

As a Field Sales Engineer – Systems/Instruments, you will act as an ambassador for Waters, promoting our products and services. You will need to understand your customers’ business and growth plans, and translate that knowledge into solutions from Waters focused on customer success. This role offers flexibility to work in the field within your designated territory or markets.

Responsibilities

  1. Preparing business plans, territory plans, reports, tender documents, and product solution documents for clients;
  2. Planning and executing customer demonstrations in collaboration with demo lab specialists;
  3. Collaborating across departments to ensure customer success, working closely with teams such as Instrument Sales, Chemistry Operations, and Informatics;
  4. Prioritizing personal time and sales activities;
  5. Managing product mix and pricing to meet targets;
  6. Adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards at all times;
  7. Using and updating CRM daily to ensure accurate forecasting;

Participate in additional sales projects and activities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific field such as chemistry, biology, or biochemistry.

Experience:

  • Technical knowledge and practical solution selling experience, ideally in LC/MS, Informatics, or related technology;
  • Laboratory experience with chromatography and mass spectrometry;
  • Relevant industry exposure;
  • Skills include:
  • Action-oriented and results-driven;
  • Strong communication and presentation skills;
  • Highly organized with good time management;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and listening ability;
  • Positive attitude, commitment, and adaptability to change;
  • Strong technical background in analytical technologies, especially LC and MS.

Travel:

  • This is a territory-based role involving travel within your designated area and occasional travel to other countries for department governance, support, meetings, and training.
