Job Description:

For our Italian Branch located in Caponago (MB), we are seeking a committed and proactive:

Global Category Manager (f/m/d)

Your daily contribution:

As "Global Category Manager," you will lead the assigned category by defining, implementing, and executing effective strategies aimed at achieving targets such as cost reduction, and optimizing total category spend across the Burckhardt Compression Group, while maintaining quality and delivery standards.

The role involves working across various procurement organizations, providing guidance, and managing resources within BC.

The main tasks include:

1. Analyzing spend, demand, and future development in the assigned category
2. Setting category strategy and implementation plans based on business needs
3. Maintaining the approved vendor list for the category
4. Negotiating and establishing global frame agreements
5. Ensuring adherence to the category strategy (Controlling)
6. Improving cost levels and service quality of suppliers in collaboration with regional procurement teams
7. Managing projects related to the category
8. Coordinating with other category managers and procurement units

Your Profile:

• Experience in Consultancy (Supply Chain), Category Management, or Strategic Procurement within a technical industrial setting
• Extensive sourcing knowledge and practice
• Technical understanding of mechanical auxiliaries in engineering
• Commercial and contractual expertise, analytical thinking, negotiation skills
• Proficiency in PC tools (Word, Excel, SAP, MS-Project) and knowledge of BI tools
• Fluent in English; Italian or German skills are a plus
• Experience in supplier negotiations and contract management
