Job Description:

Provides management to the clinical site contracting function in AbbVie's large business units in Europe, covering multiple countries. Ensures high-quality, cost-effective, timely, and compliant contracts to support R&D portfolio. Facilitates clinical trial site activation and meets strategic requirements. Implements process improvements to reduce cycle time and improve productivity.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the Europe LBU team within Global Site Contracting, overseeing subsidiary teams responsible for individual countries or groups, managing contract negotiations and budgets.
2. Represent AbbVie in all levels of site partner management and engagement, understanding contract terms and budgets from an execution and risk perspective.
3. Ensure contracting process compliance with applicable laws and policies across R&D, Procurement, Finance, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, and OEC.
4. Manage, train, and mentor staff; participate in difficult contract negotiations; conduct staff assessments and training.
5. Plan resources and prioritize projects to meet timelines; drive process improvements to reduce cycle time, control costs, and enhance quality.
6. Adapt to changing business models affecting clinical trial site execution and project timelines.

Qualifications:

• 11+ years supporting clinical research, contract management, pharma finance, or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or business-related area; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical industry, clinical operations, legal, and regulatory environments.
• Experience managing across large organizations and in cross-functional interactions.
• Problem-solving skills at strategic and operational levels.
• Proven leadership in motivating teams and delivering results; personnel management experience.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with experience presenting to senior management.

Clinical teams, Legal, Procurement, Finance, Medical Affairs, OEC.
