Role: Senior Software Engineer - Backend (.NET)

Are you passionate about building robust backend systems that improve customer and operational experiences? Join us to make a direct impact in a pioneering startup. As a core team member, you'll support and scale our products, focusing on benefit & financial products and operations. You'll collaborate across teams to develop impactful solutions for our customers.

This is a full-time, remote role where you'll be pivotal in advancing our mission. We are flexible on start dates and encourage you to apply whether you can start immediately or need more time. We’re happy to discuss your circumstances to find a suitable timeline.

Responsibilities

• Drive innovation: Build and enhance products to scale Kota’s benefit and financial operations.
• Collaborate for impact: Work with teams to refine procedures, ensuring excellent customer experiences and operational efficiency.
• Own incident management: Respond to technical issues, fostering a blameless culture of learning and improvement.
• Architect for the future: Research, design, and implement enhancements to strengthen our products and processes.

Weekly activities may include:

• Architecting and building new features for web and mobile applications, and finance systems.
• Transforming internal workflows into self-service features that delight customers and save time.
• Leading efforts to resolve customer-reported issues as part of incident response.

Requirements

• Experience: 6+ years in backend development with expertise in .NET (latest versions 6-9), SQL, ORM frameworks, automated testing, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Industry knowledge: Fintech, payroll, or benefits experience is a plus.
• Problem-solving mindset: Collaborative, enjoys tackling complex challenges.
• Education: Degree in Computer Science, bootcamp graduate, or proven self-taught experience.
• Availability: At least 4 hours overlap with GMT working hours.
