We are looking for a Scientific Data Management and Analysis Assistant to work in the IDATA Unit.

Responsibilities :

The candidate will be working within the IDATA Unit providing support on the analysis and assessment of scientific data relevant to processes in EFSA. In particular, the candidate will support the :

• extraction, analysis and presentation of data on chemicals, in particular in the context of toxicology;
• creation and maintenance of chemical databases;
• development of standardized process and procedures for data management and analysis;
• presentation of findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements :

• Excellent knowledge of English (C1 level);
• Master's Degree in one of the following areas : Biology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Health sciences, Bioinformatics;
• 1 year of experience in evidence and data collection, management and analysis in one of the following areas : Biology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Health sciences, Computational Toxicology, Bioinformatics;
• Experience in the use of statistical programming languages such as R, SAS or Python and data format languages such as XML, RDF and JSON;
• Experience in writing scientific and / or technical documents;
• Experience in Cheminformatics, with IUCLID and / or KNIME would be considered an asset;
• Behavioural competencies : Attention to details ; Work with others ; Focus on Stakeholder Needs ; Analysis and problem solving.

Assignment : initial contract of 3 months, with possibility of extension. Expected duration of assignment 24 months.

Salary : approx. € 2259,00 per month before taxes.

Work modalities : office work is required on at least 2 days per week.

Remote work is possible within 2 hours from Parma, Italy for the remaining days.
