We’ve partnered with a leading renewable energy company specialising in the development, construction, and operation of solar, wind, and battery storage projects. With a 5GWp portfolio of renewable energy projects across Europe, they are building a valuable asset base for investors and utilities.

As they continue their rapid expansion, they are seeking a Grid Manager to oversee multiple projects at various stages of development and construction.

Key Responsibilities:

Based in Milan and reporting to the Engineering Director, your role will include:

  • Assess grid feasibility for early-stage projects to ensure suitability and alignment with development plans.
  • Conduct GRID mapping to enhance origination activities and optimize project siting.
  • Manage grid applications, providing strategic direction and technical guidance to the project team.
  • Review third-party engineering reports on connection activities, offering expert analysis and recommendations.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison for all TSO/DNO communications throughout development and construction.
  • Lead grid offer negotiations with TNOs/DNOs, covering pricing, milestones, and payment structures.
  • Support ICP tender processes, defining scope of work, evaluating bids, and selecting contractors.
  • Provide technical oversight during the construction and commissioning of interconnection assets.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with top ICPs and key industry stakeholders.
  • Identify and assess new technologies to enhance efficiency and performance in grid connections.
  • Develop and manage cost estimates and project schedules for grid connections across all development phases.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams (Legal, Engineering, Business Development) to implement large-scale photovoltaic grid connections.
  • Support the legal team in securing necessary consents, including wayleaves, easements, and leases.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical business practices.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols, ensuring all activities align with established safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications / Experience:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Fluent in Italian with strong verbal and written English skills.
  • 3+ years of experience in medium to large-scale (10-50 MW) power generation interconnections.
  • In-depth knowledge of Grid Code and compliance requirements.
  • ICP project development, design and construction.
  • Participation in and leading interconnection processes in Italy.
  • Strong ties to key industry players ICPs, manufacturers, etc.
  • Knowledge of market-standard construction and equipment costs for grid connections.
  • Ability to travel regionally, depending on project location.
  • Experience in providing technical support for energy-related projects with accountability for project performance and design.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and structural design components and manufacturers.
  • Knowledge of BESS system, with special reference with HV connected ones.
