Esri Canada has an exceptional opportunity for a GIS Applications Specialist to join our Core Solutions department.

Reporting to the Professional Services Manager, Core Solutions this role will contribute to the success of providing effective technology and business consulting to Esri Canada's customers in the transportation industries to enable their successful deployment of ArcGIS technology.

This role will be based remotely in Canada.

A Day in the Life of an Applications Specialist at Esri Canada:

• Meet with customers to identify business objectives and/or problems that can be solved with a GIS based solution.
• Install, configure and upgrade Esri technologies including desktop, geodatabase, server.
• Assist with migration strategies for version upgrades of ESRI technology.
• Provide application support and prototype/proof-of-concept development.
• Technical writing skills for scoping, requirements gathering, design and build books.
• Lead technical workshops and technical knowledge transfer activities.
• Support the Project Manager with monitoring and controlling technical activities throughout the complete life cycle of consulting assignments.
• Assist with the building, testing, documentation, installation, and training of Esri products.
• Work with clients to assist them during the implementation process of software.
• Work closely with project teams to manage client expectations and ensure project objectives are met.
• Contribute to needs analysis, functional requirements definition, and business solution needs as required.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals (e.g., RFPs, RFIs and RFQs).
• Proactively pursue self-instruction on all relevant technical topics.
  
  

What You Bring To The Team

• 5+ years' experience in designing GIS based systems.
• 3+ years' experience working with Esri's ArcGIS suite of products.
• Practical experience implementing GIS solutions.
• ArcGIS Enterprise installation and configuration experience.
• Demonstrable skills developing documentation for system installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Experience with ArcGIS configurable apps including Web AppBuilder, Experience Builder, Field Maps, Survey123 and Dashboards.
• Advanced knowledge of Esri technology.
• Experience analyzing, and documenting user needs requirements.
• University degree or college diploma in the field of GIS, geomatics, geography, computer science, business administration, or equivalent.
  
  

Bonus Points For This Position

• Understanding of relational database theory and data modeling.
• Understanding of complex geospatial systems (e.g., linear referencing, least mean squares method, location intelligence, etc.).
• Knowledge of Canadian municipal GIS workflows.
• Experience configuring and deploying mobile applications based on Esri technology.
• Experience configuring and deploying web applications based on Esri technology.
• Esri certification in Desktop, Enterprise Administration, Geodatabase Management or other Esri technology.
• Ability to travel within and outside of Canada.
