Supply Chain Lead – Digital Transformation (SAP PP / S/4HANA)

Our client, a global leader in the manufacturing industry, is embarking on a major digital transformation journey and is looking for a Supply Chain Lead with deep expertise in SAP PP (Production Planning) and ideally S/4HANA. This role will be pivotal in delivering a strategic digital platform project aimed at streamlining manufacturing and supply chain operations across multiple geographies.

The position is based in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, and offers a hybrid working model, providing flexibility while remaining closely connected to the transformation core team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and integration of SAP PP within a large-scale digital transformation program.
• Work closely with key users, process owners, and functional leads across global manufacturing sites to align business needs with SAP best practices.
• Drive improvements in areas such as production planning, scheduling, discrete/lean manufacturing, and execution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth roll-out and adoption of SAP solutions.
• Contribute to the development and adherence to the S/4HANA Activate methodology and incorporate S/4HANA Private Cloud Best Practices where applicable.
• Provide training, guidance, and hands-on support to business teams during and after implementation phases.
• Monitor system performance and propose enhancements to ensure scalability and efficiency.

Professional Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience leading SAP Supply Chain and Manufacturing project implementations.
• Deep knowledge of SAP PP processes and functionality including:
• Supply Chain and Manufacturing structure
• Planning and scheduling
• Discrete and lean manufacturing
• Shop floor and production execution
• Previous experience implementing SAP PP solutions for manufacturers is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with S/4HANA, especially with the Activate methodology and Private Cloud best practices, is a strong plus.
• Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to map complex business requirements to practical SAP configurations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Good level of verbal and written communication skills in English – essential for effective collaboration within global, cross-functional teams.
