Position: Field Mechanical Engineer – Rotterdam, Netherlands

About the Role

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading EPC contractor in the Oil & Gas sector, for a Field Mechanical Engineer to support the construction of a state-of-the-art biorefinery near Rotterdam. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the most advanced industrial energy transition projects in Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Review mechanical drawings and 3D models (AutoCAD, Plant 3D, etc.) for constructability and accuracy
• Supervise the installation of mechanical systems and static/rotating equipment in line with project specs
• Coordinate subcontractors to ensure project schedule and quality compliance
• Support QA/QC processes and verify mechanical works on-site
• Oversee and witness FAT/SAT and other inspection activities
• Assist with pre-commissioning and commissioning support

Requirements

• At least 5-6 years of experience in mechanical construction, preferably in refineries or large-scale process plants
• Solid understanding of ASME, API, and other relevant standards
• Proficient with 2D/3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Plant 3D) and MS Office
• Fluency English is required
• Willingness to relocate or travel internationally as needed
