Country Financial Controller

Our Client

Our client is a medium-sized subsidiary, based in Rho, Italy, of a large multinational group headquartered in Switzerland. The company operates in the industrial automation and material handling sector, providing innovative solutions for logistics, production, and supply chain management. Their high-quality systems are used across various industries, including manufacturing, retail, and e-commerce, ensuring efficient and reliable operations. With a strong focus on engineering excellence, financial stability, and compliance, the company is dedicated to maintaining its position as a leader in its field while continuously improving its internal processes.

Responsibilities

1. Supervise Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger Accounting
2. Oversee customer billing in collaboration with the internal sales team
3. Manage monthly IAS closures and annual financial statements for group consolidation
4. Conduct quarterly forecasting, budgeting, and monthly intercompany reconciliations
5. Ensure compliance with VAT and fiscal regulations in Italy and Switzerland
6. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual tax obligations with external consultants
7. Support the Transfer Pricing consultant in preparing documentation
8. Liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance
9. Supervise payroll processing with support from an external provider
10. Act as the Local HR Operations Manager, ensuring compliance with labor laws
11. Serve as the Local Privacy Coordinator for data protection compliance
12. Lead and develop a small team of three finance professionals
13. Drive internal process improvements and ensure ESG reporting compliance

Your Profile

1. 10+ years of experience in a similar role within a small to medium-sized company, preferably part of a big group
2. Strong knowledge of Italian GAAP, IFRS, and IAS regulations
3. Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, and intercompany reconciliations
4. Knowledge of Italian labor law and Payroll Management
5. Familiar with local and international taxation frameworks, including VAT
6. Proficient in Excel and SAP S/4HANA; knowledge of other accounting and reporting tools is an advantage
7. Proven team management skills with the ability to lead and develop a small team
8. Empathetic and diplomatic approach, able to build consensus and drive ideas forward smoothly
9. Business fluency in English; good knowledge of German or French would be an advantage
