Opdenergy is a growing independent renewable energy producer (IPP) with presence in Europe, United States and Latin America with more than 19 years’ experience. The company develops, builds, finances, manages and operates high quality renewable energy projects in several countries, with a portfolio of 2.6 GW (1.3 operational and + 1.3 ready to build / under construction) assets in operations and construction, whole portfolio under development sums up to over 18 GW.

As a Technical Director, you will play a critical role in taking renewable energy projects from the permitting phase to the construction-ready stage. Your responsibilities will include:

What will you help with

  • Overseeing the technical development of PV projects, ensuring all aspects of design, engineering, and compliance are met.
  • Managing and coordinating second-level project activities, including detailed engineering, grid connection processes, and preparation for construction.
  • Reviewing and approving technical documentation to ensure compliance with local and international standards.
  • Collaborating with engineering consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure technical solutions are optimized and feasible.
  • Ensuring project designs align with permitting conditions and site-specific constraints.
  • Supporting the construction handover phase, ensuring all technical aspects are ready for execution.
  • Staying up to date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure innovative and effective project solutions.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or related fields).
  • At least 5 years of experience in technical development or engineering roles within renewable energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of PV systems, grid connection requirements, and construction processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for renewable energy.
