At Hitachi Energy, we are recruiting a Material Manager for our High Voltage Business Unit.

The Material Manager manages procurement, supply, and logistics of manufacturing materials. Responsibilities include:

1. Establishing operational plans for the job area.
2. Developing and implementing new products, processes, standards, or operational plans to achieve functional results.
3. Communicating effectively with leadership.

The role involves driving harmonized processes to reduce inventory levels sustainably, achieving high service levels, optimizing material flows, stock levels, and maintaining an efficient and resilient inventory management system.

Your responsibilities:

• Harmonize processes to optimize stock levels through efficient ERP usage.
• Define measurements to analyze optimal stock levels.
• Liaise with the Supply Chain function to ensure smooth material flow and resilient supply chain.
• Streamline procurement procedures for a smooth flow of materials.
• Define harmonized inventory storage procedures.
• Implement robust material planning processes to meet customer demands.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks early.
• Forecast and analyze inventory levels to ensure efficient routines.
• Identify and drive improvements in purchase processes.

Your background:

• Minimum 15 years of experience as Material Manager or Coordinator.
• University degree in engineering, materials, or a related field.
• Operational and inventory mindset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, both quantitative and qualitative.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Experience working with large, remote, and multicultural teams.
• Excellent project management skills, with initiative, structuring, prioritization, and effective delivery.
• Continuous improvement knowledge is a plus.
• Proficiency in SAP.
• Strong communication skills in English; additional European languages are a plus.
