Job Description:

RINA is currently recruiting for a Energy Transition R&D Project Manager to join its office in Genova or Rome within the Cyber Security and Management Consulting Division.

Mission

As a Project Manager specializing in public and private-funded Research and Development (R&D) projects in the field of energy transition services, your primary role is to oversee the successful planning, execution, and completion of the projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects align with contract requirements, are completed within budget and timeline constraints, and contribute to the overall strategic objectives of the organization.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans that outline the scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines of R&D projects. Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project requirements and success criteria.
  2. Contract Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to guidelines and requirements set by public funding agencies. Monitor and report on project activities to ensure compliance with contract terms.
  3. Resource Allocation: Allocate resources efficiently, including personnel, budget, and equipment. Work with team members to optimize resource utilization.
  4. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate interdisciplinary project teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration. Foster a positive team culture.
  5. Stakeholder Management: Maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, including funding agencies, partners, and management. Provide regular updates.
  6. Risk Management: Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  7. Budget Oversight: Develop and manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial accountability.
  8. Reporting and Documentation: Support submission of progress reports to funding agencies. Maintain thorough project documentation.
  9. Quality Assurance: Implement quality processes to meet standards. Conduct reviews to assess progress and improvements.

Education

Master’s Degree or Doctorate/PHD in Engineering, General or Energy Engineering

Qualifications

  • Background in energy engineering, energy modelling, optimization, renewable sources, storage, and distribution.
  • Experience in project management, especially R&D projects.
  • Experience managing externally funded projects (EU, national, private).
  • Proficiency in budgeting and risk management for R&D.
  • Technical knowledge in energy systems and processes.
