If you have those ambitions, DNV has a spot for you. Our Italian Solar and Storage team, part of the Energy Systems Business Unit in SEMELA (Southern Europe, Middle-East, Africa, and Latin America), is seeking a Solar Senior Engineer passionate about creating a safer, better, and more sustainable world.

DNV is the world’s leading renewable energy consultant, and DNV’s SEMELA Storage Team is growing quickly to meet the expanding demand for expert Solar energy advisory services in the region. We support utilities, regulators, developers, owners, and lenders with feasibility studies, technical due diligence, conceptual design & procurement support, and independent technical advisory services for owners, lenders, or offtakers/regulators.

At DNV, you will find teams of highly competent people who truly believe that through our engagement, we help protect people and the environment. We work together in global and inclusive teams where diversity is not only a priority but an encouraged way of working. We embrace new ideas that challenge the status quo. If you are a solution-oriented thinker, proactive, and a team player, we want you in our team.

You will be part of the SEMELA Solar & Storage Section within our Renewables Advisory Department. You will work with diverse customers and colleagues, with opportunities to be involved in other energy technology projects.

You will be based in Bologna or Milan and report to the Solar Team Leader for Italy and Greece.

Your role involves using your technical expertise to support your colleagues in delivering independent and owner’s engineering services across Italy and the SEMELA region.

Most work will be desk-based, but occasional travel for site and customer visits (estimated at 5% to 20%) will be required.

Main duties include but are not limited to:

  • Executing and managing solar-related advisory projects, including feasibility studies, technical due diligence, and owner’s engineering, involving conceptual design, technical specifications, procurement support, contract review, design review, construction monitoring, testing, commissioning, grid connection review, report writing, and presentations.
  • Building and extending your external network, driving sales opportunities, generating leads, preparing proposals, and closing deals in collaboration with the Regional Market Manager.
  • Assessing new business opportunities, gathering market intelligence, and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • Developing internal networks to share knowledge and opportunities.

We offer:

Joining DNV is an opportunity to develop your career and make a global impact. Our benefits support your physical, financial, and social well-being, including:

  • A competitive salary package.
  • Retirement plans, profit sharing, healthcare, and wellness programs.
  • Flexible working arrangements for a healthy work/life balance.
  • A collaborative environment with industry professionals.
  • Guidance through coaching, mentoring, and international networks.
  • Opportunities for professional and technical development through tailored training.
  • Leadership development programs.
  • Being part of a historic and growing organization since 1864.

DNV is an Equal Opportunity Employer, valuing diversity and considering all qualified applicants without discrimination based on gender, religion, race, ethnicity, culture, social background, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, age, or political beliefs.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Over 5 years’ experience in the (renewable) energy sector, with at least 3 years providing engineering or consultancy services in Italy.
  • Knowledge of the authorization process for solar PV projects in Italy.

  • A dynamic, enthusiastic, and collaborative team-oriented approach.
  • Strong focus on delivery, results, investigation, judgment, and networking.
