Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled E2E Telecom System Engineer to define the architecture of our next-generation European LEO satellite communications system (IRIS²). You will collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers, develop system requirements, perform trade studies, define operational concepts, and maintain technical baselines, including interface definitions. Working closely with the program and testing teams, you'll ensure the system is developed and fit for purpose. This role offers a unique opportunity to impact an organization that values growth, teamwork, and professional development.
Who You Are :
- You have experience as a system engineer, having architected and refined large multi-user, bi-directional wireless communication systems, not necessarily satellite-based.
- You have worked with or for communication system component suppliers, leading design reviews.
- You possess a deep understanding of system development, integration, verification, and validation processes.
- You have 5-10 years of industry experience.
What You’ll Do :
- Define and maintain key subsystem interface documentation and schemas.
- Ensure data stream consistency across interfaces for end-to-end system coherence.
- Determine the functional composition of the entire communication system, including subsystems and their tasks.
- Establish processes for architectural decisions and interface changes, utilizing appropriate tools.
- Manage the Interface Management Plan, collaborating with subsystem leaders to ensure system coherence.
- Define CONOPS to clarify system functional flows.
What You’ll Need :
- Strong background in integrating all system segments: Payload, Mission Segment, Core Network, RAN, User Terminal, BSS, and OSS.
- Experience in adapting communication systems for satellite deployments.
- Understanding of security and integrity protection for user data and control systems.
- Proficiency with systems engineering software tools for requirements management and model-based systems engineering.
Where You’ll Work :
- Preferably based at Eutelsat Group headquarters in Paris, France, or Torino, Italy.
- Flexible in-office and remote work arrangements.
