Position Description

The role of the Inside Sales Representative is to work in conjunction with the Customer Facing Sales Team and support the product adoption curve of the customers by delivering and demonstrating the value of Elanco products to them. The Inside Sales Representative supports the sales of the assigned geography through annual partnership planning, driven by sales support actions, timely account follow-up, and tool selection to meet specific sales objectives. The candidate must manage all aspects of the commercial relationship: prospecting, promoting products and services, managing customer questions and dissatisfaction, and forwarding issues to the appropriate Elanco team when needed.

The main purpose of the Inside Sales Representative is to generate sales directly or indirectly through remote calls and other virtual channels to customers such as veterinarians, pharmacists, over-the-counter players, etc. The representative is accountable for delivering sales results through the application of our Customer Value Selling (CVS) model, implementing tactics, and meeting KPIs.

Functions, Duties, Tasks
  1. Remote Sales Activity
  • Call and generate demand with identified accounts and influencers
  • Conduct remote customer meetings, implementing marketing programs and customer initiatives
  • Utilize Veeva CRM to identify opportunities and increase touchpoints
  • Master virtual communication platforms like MS Teams / Zoom, phone, etc.
  • Report all activities accurately within CRM, respecting KPIs
  • Develop and manage long-term relationships with key customers
  • Leverage multi-channel approaches with customized content and offers
  • Participate in customer events and internal meetings as needed
  • Maintain effective communication within the team and respond to customer needs
  • Business Development
    • Analyze territory data to meet objectives
    • Work with the sales team to implement sales tactics and increase product penetration
    • Demonstrate Customer Value Selling skills consistently
    • Achieve sales objectives and key metrics
    • Develop client portfolios aligned with business strategy
    • Respond to customer requests and complaints following policies
    • Optimize seasonal sales campaigns and product promotions
  • Order Management
    • Take and process orders according to internal procedures
    • Follow up on orders and provide after-sales support
    • Monitor pricing within internal price lists and implement price changes
  • Elanco Product Knowledge
    • Maintain technical proficiency with Elanco products and portfolio
    • Report pharmacovigilance cases per regulations
    • Utilize internal resources to provide accurate information to veterinarians
    • Ensure compliance with all policies, including ethics, safety, and privacy
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Degree in Veterinary Medicine or related scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy)
    • At least 2 years of sales experience, preferably with tele-sales or in the animal health industry
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to present information clearly across various platforms
    • Strong learning agility, influence, and leadership skills
    • Organizational and implementation skills
    • Ability to work independently and results-driven
    • High personal accountability and work ethics
    • Knowledge of Office 365 applications

    • Ability to work from a home office environment for extended periods
