About The Role

At Vita Health, technology is central to our success. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a vital role in enhancing our product. Your responsibilities include:

1. Contributing to technical direction and supporting team members to foster growth and technical excellence.
2. Designing and building scalable backend solutions using Node.js with TypeScript.
3. Overseeing AWS infrastructure and contributing to DevOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, cloud architecture).
4. Improving backend estimations, technical planning, and collaborating on roadmaps.
5. Designing and implementing authentication systems, payment integrations, and API services.
6. Leading technical execution of our custom video infrastructure project.
7. Ensuring backend performance, security, and reliability at scale.
8. Collaborating cross-functionally with Frontend, Product, and Design teams.
9. Driving continuous improvement in workflows, code quality, and deployment processes.

We seek a Backend Engineer who is eager to be challenged, contribute to process optimization, and question the status quo.

What You’ll Bring

• Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, with understanding of scalable backend architecture.
• Experience with custom video platforms or media delivery systems (e.g., AWS Media, Mux).
• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services like Cognito, S3, Lambda, API Gateway.
• Strong coding principles (DRY, SOLID).
• Agile Scrum experience.
• Degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or equivalent experience.
• Quick learner, results-driven, adaptable.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Fluent English proficiency.

Bonus Points

• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps workflows.
• Experience with Stripe, In-App Purchases, or dual payment models.
