About the job
The Chief of Staff (COS) position will be the right hand to the Chief People Officer to help drive forward the strategic direction of the global People team.
The COS will run point on a wide range of critical activities including strategic planning, operational cadence, metrics, internal communications within and from the People Team, and cross-functional projects. The COS will need to have the presence, judgment, and capability to represent the CPO in any capacity when specific human resources expertise is not required. You will act to build ‘connective tissue’ in communicating needs between the People Team and the business. With your efforts, the People team is executing at a higher level than ever before, and the CPO is focused on the most critical, highest value priorities for the company.
Responsibilities
The CPO is looking for someone who has a proven track record of organizing and directing multiple teams and departments. They need to have the smarts to figure out a new business or area very quickly, no matter how complex. In this role, you’ll:
Facilitate, in partnership with the CPO, the development, coordination and communication of the People Team’s short and long-term business strategies. Develop a good understanding of current team issues, within the People function and within the PLT, and be able to provide timely advice to the CPO.
Regularly and proactively partner with key stakeholders within FP&A, Legal, Biz Ops, other COS’s, Internal Comms, and various other teams at Twilio to assist in addressing issues, building plans and delivering programs. Work closely with the CPO on continuous efforts to elevate the People brand across the company and promote team key initiatives, innovations, and messages in the business community.
Oversee the global People operating budget in close partnership with our Finance partners . Set, direct and draft the quarterly business/priority review processes; continue to drive process improvements to help us scale. Prepare materials for executive team and Board of Director updates as needed. Prepare key metrics and operational barometers to effectively monitor the health of the global team and the company.
Compile and analyze data to provide insight and recommendations to improve the organization’s effectiveness. Organize and coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives, delivery of new programs, effective decision making, and resolution of issues.. Work with the CPO and the People Leadership Team (PLT) to establish annual strategic priorities, plus quarterly priorities and Long Range Plans. Work with key cross-functional stakeholders to ensure strong interlock between the People team’s business strategies and the rest of the business.

Required:
12 years of experience in a similar field, including 5 years’ experience in executive engagement
Impeccable managerial and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of effectively interacting with senior management.
Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments.
Strong analytical skills and adept at using key data and reporting tools.
Effective, versatile and action-oriented with excellent communication skills.
Location
This role can be
remote and will be based in the USA.
Less than 10%
travel is anticipated.

The estimated pay range for this role, based in Colorado, is
$193,760 - $266,420.
Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state. This role is also eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
