PLC Programmer / Automation Engineer

This specialist equipment manufacturer is seeking a skilled PLC Programmer / Automation Engineer to join their team.

Role Overview

As a PLC Programmer / Automation Engineer, you will work remotely from home, with responsibilities including:

• Traveling 20-30% of the time to customer sites (pharmaceutical manufacturers in Italy), with the remainder supporting via phone and remote access.
• Performing corrective maintenance and disaster recovery on Rockwell ControlLogix and SCADA systems.
• Configuring systems and implementing automation upgrades.
• Troubleshooting electrical and automation failures systematically.
• Completing service reports and communicating effectively internally and externally.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should have at least 2 years' experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Rockwell, etc.), speak advanced English and good Italian, and be comfortable with travel and overnight stays. A degree is beneficial but not essential, nor is experience in sterile or cleanroom environments. Key skills include logical fault-finding, PLC programming, and problem-solving.

Valid driving license and legal right to work in Italy are mandatory; sponsorship is not provided.
