Job Description:

A successful Sous Chef is responsible for managing the daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and consistency, supervising kitchen staff, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Responsibilities
  • You will work closely with the Executive Chef to develop menus, implement culinary standards, and deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Key Accountabilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve kitchen efficiency and productivity
  • Lead and mentor kitchen staff to maintain high culinary standards
  • Supervise food preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • Ensure food is prepared to the highest quality, taste, and presentation standards
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and receiving of kitchen supplies
  • Enforce food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness protocols
  • Help create and test new recipes and seasonal menu items
  • Monitor portion sizes and food waste, ensuring cost efficiency
  • Step into the Executive Chef role in their absence
  • Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure seamless service
  • Address and resolve any kitchen or staff issues quickly and professionally
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong experience as a Senior Line Cook
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
