Business Development Manager in Building Solutions - Real Estate

What you will do

For our Building Technologies & Solutions division in Milan, we are currently looking for a Business Development Manager in Building Solutions – Real Estate. As BDM in Building Solutions – Real Estate, you will be responsible for building and maintaining long-term relationships within general contractors, clients, agencies, and installers, as well as promoting Johnson Controls products and solutions.

How you will do it

1. Establish ongoing partnerships with general contractors, final clients, agencies, and installers.
2. Manage all sales negotiations up to final closure.
3. Ensure proposals meet customers’ application and operational needs.
4. Validate assumptions during promotion meetings and build detailed cost estimates and scope of work.
5. Provide risk analysis for complete solutions.
6. Understand the full range of JC offerings and their applications in customer solutions.
7. Devise multiple offerings to meet specific program requirements.
8. Assist in identifying specification issues or interpretation discrepancies and provide solutions.
9. Review estimates with operations and sales teams to reach mutual agreement.
10. Own the JC value proposition to consultants by optimizing the link between their operations and our business objectives, needs, and solutions.
11. Understand and apply knowledge of competitors’ products and solutions.

What we look for

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Five to eight years’ experience in building systems (BMS and Integrated solutions) or operational processes.
• Strong technical subject matter expertise.
• Commercial attitude to establish partnerships with customers.
• Ability to influence consultants in technical projects.
• Strong teamwork attitude.
• Computer literacy, especially MS Word and Excel.
• Fluent in Italian and English (verbal, reading, writing).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
