Sales Support Specialist - Digital Solutions

Reporting To

Digital Product Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

1. Join our Digital Offering Team within the Process Automation business area for Energy Industries - Digital Division.
2. Support digital solutions development, including automation, electrification, instrumentation, and telecom, to enable customer business transformation in a converging IT/OT environment.
3. Prepare technical proposals and cost calculations for digital solutions based on customer requirements, with support from Subject Matter Experts.
4. Assist SCM in analyzing supplier proposals.
5. Gather information from Sales regarding installed base/site details from ABB Technical Account Managers.
6. Analyze customer needs and competitor offerings through market intelligence and sales data.
7. Conduct lost proposal analysis, identify potential causes, and recommend future actions in collaboration with Sales and Business Units.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of process control systems and automation (PLC, DCS, ESD) in power, water, and oil & refining industries.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a proposal or support sales engineer, preparing technical specifications and pricing.
• Enhanced understanding of Cyber Security Standards (e.g., IEC 62443) and electrical standards relevant to our major customers.
• Passion for data analysis and identifying digital solutions to meet customer needs while optimizing costs and revenues.
• Knowledge of ABB digital portfolio (Cyber Security, Asset Performance Management, Sustainability Solutions, etc.) is a plus.
• Proficiency in English and Italian; additional languages (French, Spanish, German) are advantageous.
