The Organization

The Global Forum on Agricultural Research and Innovation (GFAiR) is a multi-stakeholder network focused on transforming the Agri-Food System. It comprises around 1,000 members worldwide from diverse sectors, including farmers, civil society, private sector, research systems, and UN organizations. GFAiR promotes dialogue, collective actions, and initiatives to make agri-food research more effective, inclusive, and equitable, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals.

About the position

On behalf of GFAiR, the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT seeks a qualified consultant to help conceptualize and implement the Global NARS Consortium, ensuring inclusive participation and supporting fundraising, MEL, and outreach activities.

Responsibilities

• Support governance activities and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
• Develop documents like plans, reports, and minutes.
• Lead the development and establishment of the GNC, mobilize stakeholders, and support pilot design.
• Support the implementation of systems and databases for GFAiR programs.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in relevant fields.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in agrifood systems, research management, or facilitation.
• Experience with database management and multicultural organizations.
• Understanding of systems transformation issues and a network in agricultural R&D.
• Experience in the Global South or international organizations.
• Interest in leveraging AI for program efficiency.
• Excellent English language skills; other languages are a plus.

Terms of employment

This is a remote, part-time (50%) 6-month consultancy with a fee of USD 20,000, payable within 6 months. Conditions follow Alliance policies.
