Schwing Bioset, Inc. is a fast-paced, growing company located in Somerset, WI, just outside Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. Schwing Bioset exists to pioneer and develop high performance, material handling solutions, and is dedicated to serving the wastewater, mining, and industrial markets with specialized products and engineered solutions. Our products are presently installed in a wide variety of custom engineered and highly specialized applications including wastewater treatment plants, mines, power plants, dredging, refineries, pharmaceutical facilities, and chemical processing plants in both US and international markets. Schwing is seeking a full-time Field Service and Production Technician.

Responsibilities:

Field Service:
  1. Coordinate and schedule equipment to different locations.
  2. Set up equipment.
  3. Operate equipment and document results.
  4. Facilitate sales staff with requirements of demonstration.
  5. Field test systems per project specifications.
  6. Train plant personnel in operation and maintenance of SBI equipment.
  7. Troubleshoot and repair existing equipment.
  8. Perform preventative maintenance services.
  9. Support customers with estimates for repairs and upgrades.
  10. Assist with parts and service quotes.
  11. Conduct and complete field equipment installation supplied by SBI.
  12. Synchronize field work with Project Manager.
  13. Collaborate with outside contractors (electrical, mechanical, general, etc.).
  14. Arrange field equipment for work completion (crane rental, etc.).
  15. Ensure all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety regulations.
Production:
  1. Assembly of customized project-specific heavy equipment, including but not limited to mechanical, hydraulic, and fluid handling systems, and electrical wiring and instrumentation.
  2. Light metal fabrication and welding.
  3. Meet weekly goals and assignments such that production goals are met, and project schedule does not slip.
  4. Read hydraulic schematics for proper plumbing of hydraulic circuits.
  5. Understand and follow assembly drawings.
  6. Consult needed changes on released equipment with Production Manager or Lead; mark assembly drawings with agreed upon changes made to ensure as-built equipment is documented.
  7. Assist as needed with preparation of production parts and equipment for shipping which may include picking and pulling parts within the warehouse.
  8. Perform reasonably similar or related duties as instructed by Production Manager and/or Production Lead.
  9. Follow established Schwing Bioset assembly practices and procedures.
  10. Follow safe work practices and maintain a clean and safe work area.
  11. Conduct all your activities within the guidelines of all company policies, procedures, and work rules.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. 2-year Technical, or related degree. Experience in construction or concrete preferred.
  2. Knowledge in hydraulics, electrical systems, pneumatics, mechanical systems and PLC.
  3. Ability to read electrical schematics, hydraulic drawings and blueprints related to engineering and contracts.
  4. Ability to travel up to 50% for out-of-town assignments as required on a 2 (two) week rotation.
  5. Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds.
  6. Excellent communication, time management and organization skills.
