Postdoctoral position in Computational modeling of Plasmonic Metal/Semiconductor NanoHybrids for Photocatalytic applications, Genoa

Job Overview

This position is part of the REPLY project, focusing on reshaping photocatalysis via light-matter hybridization in plasmonic nanocavities. The role involves collaboration within a multidisciplinary team at IIT Genoa, working on theoretical and numerical approaches to hybrid nanophotonic systems, including electromagnetic modeling and computational catalyst design.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and apply theoretical and numerical models for hybrid nanophotonic systems, focusing on light-matter interactions and interface energetics.
  2. Perform multi-scale electromagnetic modeling of nanomaterials, including plasmon-exciton interactions and spectroscopy.
  3. Design and optimize nanophotonic architectures for photocatalytic applications using computational methods.
Qualifications
  • PhD in physics, materials science, or related field.
  • Experience with nanophotonic design software (e.g., Comsol, CST, Lumerical).
  • Proficiency in optical modeling of plasmonic systems.
  • Strong publication record and data management skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior researchers.
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with inverse design, topology optimization, machine learning in plasmonics.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
