Description: Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Genova or Pistoia, Italy.

Accountabilities

1. Identify potential suppliers based on technical specifications;
2. Formulate requests for tenders;
3. Formulate requests for quotation;
4. Assess and negotiate tenders received;
5. Issue orders/framework contracts through the SAP corporate management system;
6. Forward, approve, ship, and archive purchase orders;

Required Skills/Knowledge

• Ability to read/interpret technical specifications and/or drawings;
• Previous experience, even minimal, in the role of Buyer;
• Excellent use of office packages and main computer tools;
• Knowledge of SAP Environment System MM;
• Proven negotiating skills, complemented by good analytical and management skills.

Education / Qualifications

• Technical-commercial degree in engineering/management or economic/legal disciplines;

Languages

• Advanced knowledge of English (at least B2);
