We’re looking for a Safety/Vetting MANAGER, with roles of DPA and CSO.

The role shall have the following duties:

1. Act as a link between the vessel, shore personnel, external stakeholders on safety and pollution prevention aspects and the highest level of management.
2. Monitor safety and pollution prevention aspects onboard, disseminate prevention awareness across the organization.
3. Liaise with external stakeholders, managers, and terminal operators to ensure compliance with applicable environmental permitting frameworks.
4. Monitor the effectiveness of the Integrated Management System and its compliance with evolving national and international regulatory frameworks, industry standards, and guidelines.
5. Update the Ship Security Plan and perform Security Internal Audits.
6. Oversee the execution of shipboard and ship-shore drills, identify and rectify any shortcomings.
7. Conduct internal shore and onboard audits, participate in third-party audits related to safety and environmental aspects.
8. Liaise with flag authorities and class societies on ISM and ISPS matters; arrange external audits (e.g., DOC and SMS audits) both onboard and ashore.
9. Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformities to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
10. Update the SIRE database.
11. Ensure shore support for the vetting process and TMSA management.
12. Evaluate seafarers to identify training needs.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a shipping or ship-owning company.
• Experience with rules, codes, and standards related to the shipping industry, with a focus on tanker vessels preferred.
• Knowledge of TMSA and OCIMF Vetting Process.
• Knowledge of ISM, MLC, ISPS, SITTGO, SIRE.
• Certification as an Internal Auditor (ISO Standard 19001:2011 preferred).
• Certified Designated Person Ashore as per ISM code.
• Certified Company Security Officer for the Italian Flag.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365.
• Advanced proficiency in English (C1 level), both written and spoken.

Conditions:

The economic and contractual conditions will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.

Working hours: Full-time – Monday to Friday.

Starting date: ASAP.
