VIDAL ASSOCIATES Consulting and Search, a leader in recruiting senior specialists and top managers in Italy and internationally, is seeking on behalf of its client Séché Environnement a/an HR Director (Direttore/Direttrice delle Risorse Umane) with a permanent contract, based in Milan.

With over 120 sites across 15 countries, including approximately 50 industrial sites in France, Séché Environnement employs over 5,700 people, more than 2,500 of whom are in France. The company's activities include hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, material and energy recovery, as well as site remediation and rehabilitation. Strengthening its presence in the European hazardous waste management market, Séché Environnement is looking for an HR Director (HRD) for its Italian subsidiary.

Permanent contract, Milan

Reporting to the CEO of the subsidiary and the Group HR Director, the HR Director will be responsible for the overall management of human resources, adapting the group's HR strategy to local specifics, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations in the hazardous waste sector.

Main responsibilities:

  1. HR Strategy: Adapt and implement the group's HR policies based on local and sector challenges, ensuring compliance with Italian labor laws and waste management standards.
  2. Talent Management: Manage recruitment and onboarding of specialized technical profiles (environmental engineers, waste treatment technicians, safety experts), and define training plans.
  3. Labor Relations: Manage relations with workers' representatives, anticipate and resolve conflicts, and promote a corporate culture focused on safety and environmental responsibility.
  4. HR Administration: Oversee personnel administration (payroll, contracts, attendance tracking), monitor HR indicators (turnover, absenteeism, employee satisfaction, workplace incidents), and provide regular reports to the group.

Qualifications:

  • A master's degree (Bac+5) in Human Resources, Labor Law, Management, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in human resources management, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role, preferably in a highly regulated sector (waste management, chemistry, energy, heavy industry).
  • Proven experience in workplace safety management and environmental risk compliance.
  • Deep knowledge of Italian labor law and collective agreements.
  • Experience in labor relations and negotiations with social partners.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead change.
  • Excellent communication, listening skills, common sense, and closeness to employees.
  • Fluent Italian (mandatory), professional English (required), knowledge of French is a plus.
  • Ability to personally lead projects with pragmatism.
