PRODUCTION DIRECTOR – Heavy Industry Background & Strong People Leadership

For an international industrial group, a leader in its sector and expanding through dynamic worldwide acquisitions, we are looking for a :

PRODUCTION DIRECTOR

We are seeking a high-caliber leader with a solid background in heavy process industries (such as steel, refractories, foundries, or similar) and a proven track record in managing and developing large production teams in complex manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Italian CEO, the Production Director will manage a team of approximately 300 employees and be responsible for :

  • Leading the following plant operations , planning, production, engineering, maintenance, warehousing, and facilities, with about 10 direct reports.
  • Driving performance in a demanding industrial environment , ensuring safety, efficiency, quality, and cost targets are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Representing the Italian Business Unit within the international group, contributing to strategic alignment through data sharing, P&L reports, budget planning, and operational forecasting.
  • Championing cross-functional collaboration to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree and a solid professional background in heavy process industries (e.g., metallurgy, refractories, steelmaking, casting, or comparable sectors).
  • Significant experience in leading large industrial teams , with strong focus on people development, team motivation, and leadership in complex and evolving environments .
  • Strong knowledge of modern manufacturing principles, p&l, with a data-driven and target-oriented mindset .
  • P&L responsibility experience and ability to manage investments and operational budgets.
  • Fluency in English is a must (B2 / C1).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
