At the St. Regis Rome, we are looking for a Director of Travel Industry.

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Director of Travel Industry is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the hotel’s relationships with the travel industry, including travel agencies, tour operators, corporate travel managers, and key industry partners. This role requires a deep understanding of the luxury hospitality sector and the ability to develop and implement strategies to attract high-value guests. The Director will lead efforts to create tailored travel experiences, promote the hotel in key travel markets, and drive revenue through strategic partnerships, all while maintaining the brand’s luxury standards and exceptional service.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
  1. Directs the property’s Travel Industry Sales function, verifying that client expectations and production goals are met.
  2. Analyzes market information using sales systems and implements strategies to achieve financial room goals.
  3. Creates and implements a sales plan addressing revenue, customers, and the market for the segment led by the Director of Sales (DOS).
  4. Develops and maintains strong relationships with top travel agencies, tour operators, and key accounts.
  5. Responsible for Consortia relationships and execution of contractual agreements.
  6. Participates in special projects/events such as Site Inspections, FAM trips.
  7. Plans and participates in sales trips and industry meetings.
  8. Participates in departmental sales and operational meetings.
  9. Engages in sales calls to acquire new business or close deals.
  10. Supports operational aspects of booked business.
  11. Partners with marketing to promote the property in the travel industry market segments.
  12. Develops and executes sales and marketing programs for the Travel Industry Sales & Corporate segment.
  13. Implements the annual Sales & Travel plan for the assigned market.
  14. Monitors competitors and industry trends, recommending strategies to maintain competitiveness.
  15. Identifies and develops new business opportunities proactively.
  16. Manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  17. Reports on travel industry account performance, providing insights and data-driven recommendations.
  18. Maintains a CRM system with updated industry contacts and booking trends.

This position is vital for positioning the hotel as a preferred choice for luxury travelers through strategic relationships and business development. It requires frequent travel, especially to industry events and partner locations.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel Management, or related field.
  • At least 4 years in a senior sales role within luxury hospitality, with a proven revenue growth record.
  • Strong existing client base in North & South American markets, especially with high-end leisure agencies.
  • Exceptional leadership, decision-making, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Italian; Spanish and Portuguese are pluses.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Opera.
