Hyatt Centric Milano Centrale is seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing.
This highly visible role reports directly to the General Manager and involves engagement with senior and corporate leadership.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Manage the Sales and Marketing Budget/P&L, including revenue forecasting, advertising, marketing, public relations, and business planning, with ownership engagement.
- Understand and communicate market trends, demand generators, supply/demand, and economic factors affecting hotel performance.
- Participate as a key member of the hotel’s strategy team; demonstrate dynamic and innovative thinking.
- Train and oversee the group contractual agreement process, business evaluation, rate quotes, and proactive/reactive business efforts.
- Lead the marketing, communications, and agency partnerships; be confident in public relations and marketing strategies to drive direct business.
- Design and implement the annual marketing plan, addressing challenges throughout the booking cycle with strategic tactics.
- Develop and execute strategic sales action plans and forecasts with the Revenue team to meet revenue targets.
- Coordinate with Hyatt sales force regionally and globally to ensure expenditures align with the hotel’s budget.
- Expand the client base through prospecting, marketing, and cultivating relationships.
- Attend major travel, trade, and corporate events, including sales trips, which may require travel on weekends and evenings.
- Organize Fam Trips and in-house site inspections.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to increase market share across revenue streams.
- Manage hotel sales contracts and achieve revenue goals.
- Present hotel results in monthly asset management meetings.
- Collaborate with the operations team to understand guest needs and foster cross-departmental relationships.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- At least 6 years of progressive hotel sales experience, preferably in hospitality.
- Strong marketing background.
- Willingness and ability to travel globally and manage different market segments.
- Ability to effectively interact with diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic groups.
- Results-oriented, energetic, and focused.
- Service-oriented with professional presentation skills.
- Key strengths include high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, proven high-volume success, effective communication, and customer service excellence.
- Fluent in Italian and English, with clear and concise communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn Hyatt systems.
