A well-established 4* Superior hotel located in the heart of Milan is currently seeking a Director of Sales to lead its commercial and brand positioning strategy. This key leadership role is part of the Executive Committee and reports directly to the General Manager. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of the hotel’s annual commercial strategy, including sales, marketing, communications, and public relations. Define revenue forecasts and marketing budgets, monitor performance metrics (P&L), and drive initiatives to meet and exceed financial targets. Collaborate with Revenue Management to create and implement business plans that align with market dynamics and hotel objectives. Analyze key market trends, demand generators, and economic indicators to guide business decisions and identify growth opportunities. Oversee and support the entire sales cycle: from prospecting and contracting to account development and long-term relationship management. Drive brand visibility through coordinated marketing efforts, digital campaigns, and public relations strategies in collaboration with agency partners. Plan and execute sales missions, international trade shows, and client entertainment based on business priorities; travel may include weekends and evenings. Ensure smooth coordination and communication between sales, operations, and guest-facing departments to deliver a consistent customer experience. Organize familiarization trips, on-site inspections, and corporate events aimed at strengthening partnerships and increasing bookings. Present commercial performance and strategies during monthly internal and stakeholder meetings. Support team development through coaching, clear performance metrics, and alignment on service standards. Qualifications & Skills Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in hotel sales & marketing, ideally in upscale hospitality environments. Strong strategic mindset and hands-on approach to both sales leadership and marketing execution. Proven experience managing diverse markets and segments, with availability to travel internationally. High level of emotional intelligence and ability to engage with stakeholders from various cultural and professional backgrounds. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Italian. Excellent presentation skills and confidence in leading negotiations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and the ability to adapt to hospitality-specific systems and tools.
