We are looking for a strategic Director of People & Culture, responsible for implementing and executing the HR strategy across two hospitality destinations in Milan: Palazzo Cordusio and Torre Velasca for both our Hotels & Resorts Division as well as our F&B Division.

This role leads all HR functions including organizational development, strategic workforce planning, compliance, Talent & Acquisition, engagement, culture development and training. The role ensures both properties reflect the brand’s high standards while aligning with Italy’s labor laws and global hospitality best practices.

Main responsibilities
  • Implement and lead a proactive, integrated HR strategy aligned with business goals for both locations.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the senior leadership team on workforce planning, organizational design and cultural initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to Italian Labor Law and SHG’s global HR policies.
  • Design and implement localized HR policies tailored to Milan’s regulatory and operational context.
  • Lead recruitment initiatives for Palazzo Cordusio & Torre Velasca to attract top hospitality talent aligned with luxury service standards.
  • Oversee onboarding and induction processes to embed the SHG culture.
  • Roll out and execute Performance Management systems to drive accountability & results.
  • Promote a positive employee relations climate and handle grievances and disciplinary processes.
  • Conduct exit interviews and present trend analysis to leadership.
  • Manage insurance, welfare programs and salary structures.
  • Design property‑specific training programs and roll out corporate ones.
  • Support training initiatives for Italian labor law compliance, brand standards and safety.
  • Ensure efficient use of HRIS in the region.
  • Supervise Time & Attendance, leave management and payroll coordination.
  • Manage legal compliance and administrative processes, including coordination with legal counsel, oversight of work permits and operational efficiency across locations.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Hospitality or similar.
  • Minimum 8‑10 years of experience in the field of hospitality in a management level (ideally in restaurants and hotels).
  • Strong working knowledge of Italian employment law.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.
  • Flexible person with availability to adapt.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
