SHG operates over 81 venues in 26 countries with a commitment to deliver authentic and diverse hospitality experiences that bring people together worldwide.

We are looking for a strategic Director of People & Culture, responsible for implementing and executing the HR strategy across two hospitality destinations in Milan:

Palazzo Cordusio and Torre Velasca, for both our Hotels & Resorts Division and our F&B Division.

This role leads all HR functions including organizational development, strategic workforce planning, compliance, Talent & Acquisition, engagement, culture development, and training. The role ensures both properties reflect the brand's high standards while aligning with Italy's labor laws and global hospitality best practices.

Main responsibilities

  1. Implement and lead a proactive, integrated HR strategy aligned with business goals for both locations.
  2. Act as a strategic advisor to the senior leadership team on workforce planning, organizational design, and cultural initiatives.
  3. Ensure adherence to Italian Labor Law and SHG's global HR policies.
  4. Design and implement localized HR policies tailored to Milan's regulatory and operational context.
  5. Lead recruitment initiatives for Palazzo Cordusio & Torre Velasca to attract top hospitality talent aligned with luxury service standards.
  6. Oversee onboarding and induction processes to embed the SHG culture.
  7. Roll out and execute Performance Management systems to drive accountability and results.
  8. Promote a positive employee relations climate and handle grievances and disciplinary processes.
  9. Conduct exit interviews and present trend analysis to leadership.
  10. Manage insurance, welfare programs, and salary structures.
  11. Design property-specific training programs and roll out corporate training initiatives.
  12. Support training initiatives for Italian labor law compliance, brand standards, and safety.
  13. Ensure efficient use of HRIS in the region.
  14. Supervise Time & Attendance, leave management, and payroll coordination.
  15. Manage legal compliance and administrative processes, including coordination with legal counsel, oversight of work permits, and operational efficiency across locations.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Hospitality, or related fields.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in hospitality management, ideally in restaurants and hotels.
  • Strong working knowledge of Italian employment law.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.
  • Flexible and adaptable personality.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
