About the Company

Our client is a major European infrastructure group headquartered with over 50 years of experience delivering complex energy and engineering projects across Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Australia.

Renowned for its excellence in high and medium voltage transmission lines, the company is expanding its European presence and preparing to launch operations in Italy , where it already holds a footprint in medium and low-voltage projects.

To lead this strategic move, they are now seeking a Director of Operations with strong technical knowledge, market insight, and entrepreneurial spirit to head their High Voltage Transmission business unit in Italy.

Your Role : Build and Lead the Italian HV Transmission Business

As Director of Operations , you will take full ownership of establishing and growing the high-voltage (HV) transmission division in Italy from laying the groundwork to winning and delivering large-scale infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the European HV Transmission Director, you will operate with high autonomy while receiving support from the Spanish and German business units.

Key Responsibilities

Market Analysis & Entry Strategy :

Conduct market studies and define the go-to-market plan, identifying growth opportunities and key partnerships.

Business Setup & Localization :

Lead the operational setup in Italy, including company registration, office location selection, and initial team hiring.

Client Development :

Build relationships with major utilities, public authorities, and infrastructure clients. Lead technical-commercial bids and contract negotiations.

Project Oversight :

Ensure high-quality project execution and client satisfaction. Supervise planning, budgeting, and compliance with safety and technical standards.

Cross-Border Coordination :

Collaborate with European colleagues to leverage knowledge, resources, and shared services across borders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Extensive experience in the high-voltage (AT) transmission line industry ideally with project delivery and business development exposure.

Solid technical foundation in electrical infrastructure, energy, or power systems.

Strong commercial instincts and proven ability to open new markets or business units.

Native-level Italian and fluent English (Spanish is a plus).

Strategic thinker with hands-on execution skills and entrepreneurial mindset.

Willingness to travel within Italy and occasionally to Spain or Germany.
