Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Resorts Collection, a former cultural institution and much-beloved boarding school, is undergoing an extensive transformation to awaken the property’s storied and romantic history, dating back to the 16th century. Auberge’s third European destination, Collegio, is a delight for design lovers and gourmands alike. Three adjacent original buildings feature 83 rooms, an original chapel and theater, a library, two restaurants, and a bar which was once the school’s principal’s office. Surrounded by old growth cypress and soaring oak trees, the resort’s grounds boast expansive lawns, five levels of terraced Baroque gardens, a pool, and garden bar and restaurant. Role Summary

The Director of Operations of Collegio alla Querce will oversee the operations of the property to establish it as a one-of-a-kind iconic resort attracting an affluent clientele interested in culinary, wellness, and adventure experiences, situated between Florence and the Tuscan countryside. They will develop a local culture that attracts top-tier talent and fosters community engagement. They will lead recruitment efforts to make Collegio the employer of choice in Florence, building a loyal base of advocates and creating one of Italy’s most coveted and special destinations.

Core Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Operational Strategy: Oversee the deployment of the strategy and business plan to deliver on our mission of being the best-loved operator of luxury hospitality and experiences.
  • Service Excellence: Lead service excellence initiatives to embed a culture of personalized, high-quality service.
  • Recruitment and Culture: Execute recruitment and branding strategies to position Collegio as the employer of choice, fostering a culture of trust, pride, and joy to enhance employee advocacy and engagement.
  • Operational and Guest Experience: Ensure the successful execution of guest experiences from pre-arrival to post-departure, maintaining high levels of personalized service and continuous improvement.
  • Experiences and Programming: Curate unique guest experiences based on culture, art, culinary, and adventure, through activities, amenities, partnerships, and space activation.
  • Financial Management: Manage pre-opening and operating budgets, develop labor models, and control costs to meet margin targets.
  • Owner Relations: Support owner relationships, maintaining trust and confidence in stewardship of their assets.
