Digital Product Owner

Chaberton Professionals, a division of Chaberton Partners dedicated to the research and selection of Middle Management profiles, is currently looking for a Digital Product Owner for a Fintech Startup set up in Milan with the objective of investing in real estate across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

1. User & Market Insights: Analyze user pain points and gather customer needs to inform product development.
2. Strategic Planning: Develop and prioritize product roadmaps with clear development priorities and rapid, small-increment hypothesis testing.
3. Process Implementation: Establish core product management processes, including setting up prioritized backlogs, well-written user stories/epics, and bug reports.
4. Data-Driven Decision Making: Set and achieve KPIs and SLOs by reverse-engineering from the business plan to maximize service profitability.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with design, development, and marketing teams to craft product solutions that resonate with customers.
6. Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with the CEO and ensure clear visibility into product delivery by communicating plans, sprint demos, and release notes to internal stakeholders.
7. Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitive trends and incorporate market insights into product improvements and strategy adjustments.
8. Cultural & Strategic Leadership: Build a product culture centered on solving user problems, develop initial product marketing strategies, and engage users to continuously enrich the product vision.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Strong commitment to a startup environment and excellent teamwork skills.
• Proven experience in developing customer-centric products, with a focus on understanding the “why” behind features.
• At least 3-5 years in a Product Manager role or similar, preferably in startups or fast-growing environments.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to drive projects forward across departments.
• Proficient in leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data for decision-making.
• Basic understanding of software development and market trends for effective communication with engineering and design teams.
• Ability to work with an international team and customer base, with business-level proficiency in English.
• Basic knowledge of legal topics related to fintech regulations and laws.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A builder’s mindset, team spirit, maturity, and commitment to personal growth.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies or Lean Startup principles.

Would be a plus if you have:

• Product management experience in a seed-stage startup with fewer than 10 employees, driving early product strategy, MVP development, and rapid iteration.
• Experience in fintech product development.
• Engineering background and software development experience.
• Knowledge of digital UX/UI design.
• Interest or experience with blockchain and smart contracts.
• Ability to work onsite at our Milan HQ for in-person collaboration.
