Chaberton Professionals, a division of Chaberton Partners dedicated to the research and selection of Middle Management profiles, is currently looking for a Digital Product Owner for a Fintech Startup set up in Milan with the objective of investing in real estate across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

1. User & Market Insights: Analyze user pain points and gather customer needs to inform product development.
2. Strategic Planning: Develop and prioritize product roadmaps with clear development priorities and rapid, small-increment hypothesis testing.
3. Process Implementation: Establish core product management processes, including setting up prioritized backlogs, well-written user stories/epics, and bug reports.
4. Data-Driven Decision Making: Set and achieve KPIs and SLOs by reverse-engineering from the business plan to maximize service profitability.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with design, development, and marketing teams to craft product solutions that resonate with customers.
6. Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with the CEO and ensure clear visibility into product delivery by communicating plans, sprint demos, and release notes to internal stakeholders.
7. Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitive trends and incorporate market insights into product improvements and strategy adjustments.
8. Cultural & Strategic Leadership: Build a product culture focused on solving user problems, develop initial product marketing strategies, and engage users to continuously enrich the product vision.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

1. Strong commitment to a startup environment and excellent teamwork skills.
2. Proven experience in developing customer-centric products, with a keen focus on understanding the “why” behind features.
3. A minimum of 3-5 years in a Product Manager role or similar, preferably in startups or fast-growing environments.
4. Excellent communication and coordination skills to drive projects forward across departments.
5. Proficient in leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data for decision-making.
6. Basic understanding of software development and market trends to facilitate effective communication with engineering and design teams.
7. Ability to work with an international team and customer base, with business-level proficiency in English.
8. Basic knowledge of legal topics to understand regulations and laws in the fintech industry and incorporate them into product development.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. A builder’s mindset, team spirit, maturity, and a commitment to continuous personal growth.
11. Familiarity with Agile methodologies or Lean Startup principles.

Additional Qualifications (Plus):

1. Product management experience in a seed-stage startup with fewer than 10 employees, focusing on early product strategy, MVP development, and rapid iteration.
2. Experience in fintech product development.
3. Engineering background and software development experience.
4. Knowledge of digital UX/UI design.
5. Interest or experience with blockchain and smart contracts.
6. Willingness to work onsite at our Milan HQ to collaborate in person and foster team culture.
7. Open to candidates of all experience levels who meet the above qualifications.
